  DIPLOMA IN GENERAL NURSING AND MIDWIFERY (DGNM)

The course was started in the year of 2007 and has an annual intake of 20 students and the duration of the course is 3 years. This programme is aimed to train the students to be catalyst in the society to prevent diseases, to heal the sick, to take care of the needy and to rehabilitate the affected.

Eligibility Criteria

a. 10+2 passed / pre-degree course/HSC/VHSC or its equivalent qualifications.
b. Students from Science discipline with aggregate of 45 % marks in Physics, Chemistry & Biology are preferable.
c. No relaxation in any of the requirements under special circumstances.
d. Age limit 17 – 35 years, No special consideration.
e. Each institute must conduct medical examination of candidates and only medically fit students should be admitted.
f. The entire programme is fully residential.

  BASIC B.Sc., (NURSING)

This course was started in the year 2008 and has an annual intake of 60 students and the duration of the course is 4 years.

Eligibility Criteria

a. Candidates belonging to all categories for admission to the B.Sc., Degree course in Nursing (Basic) should have      passed the qualifying examinations (Academic Stream) after period of 12 years of study with the following subjects      of Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Botany and Zoology.
b. Every candidate before admission to the course shall submit to the Principal of the institution a certificate of medical      fitness from an authorized medical officer that the candidate is physically fit to undergo the academic course.
c. The minimum educational requirements shall be passing of Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination
     (12 years course) (or)
d. Senior School Certificate Examination (10+2), pre-degree Examinations (10+2) (or)
e. An equivalent with 12 years schooling from a recognized Board or University with Science (Physics, Chemistry,      Biology) and English with minimum 40% aggregate marks (PCBE); for SC/ST candidates – the minimum percentage of      marks is 35%.
f. A candidate should have completed the age of 17 years at the time of admission or would complete the said age on     or before 31st December of the year of admission to the B.Sc. (Nursing) degree course.

  POST BASIC B.Sc., (NURSING)

This Course Was Started In The Year 2012 And Has An Annual Intake Of 30 Students.

Admission Requirements

Candidates Belonging To All Categories for Admission To The Course Of Post Basic B.Sc., Nursing

a. Should have qualified in DGNM and be a Registered Nurse and Midwife in the State Nursing Council or the evidence      for Processing the registration in State Nursing Council.
b. Working Experience is not mandatory.
c. Every Candidate before admission to the Course shall submit to the Principal Of the institution a Certificate of    Medical Fitness from an authorized Medical Officer that the Candidate is Physically fit to Undergo the academic      Course.
d. There shall be no Upper Age Limit for Admission to the First Year of Post Basic B.Sc., Degree Course in Nursing.
e. Migration Certificate for Other State Candidates.
f. Eligibility Certificate from the Tamilnadu Dr.M.G.R.Medical University, Chennai.

  M.Sc., (NURSING)

This course was started in the year 2012 and has an annual intake of 15 students and the duration of the course is 2 years.

Eligibility Criteria

a. The candidate should be a Registered Nurse and Registered midwife or equivalent with any State Nursing      Registration Council.
b. The minimum education requirements shall be the passing of : B.Sc. Nursing / B.Sc. Hons. Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc.      Nursing with minimum of 55% aggregate marks.
c. The candidate should have undergone in B.Sc. Nursing / B.Sc. Hons. Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing in an      institution which is recognized by Indian Nursing Council.
d. Minimum one year of work experience after Basic B.Sc. Nursing.
e. Minimum one year of work experience prior or after Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing.
f. Candidate shall be medically fit. 5% relaxation of marks for SC/ST candidates may be given.
